Re: Dialects and terminology
As for a wizard being "mentally exhausted," I think that's an OK way of playing it--especially for a sorcerer, whose power comes from within and not through study--but I think there are other ways to go. Think about it--if spell amounts are only tied to physical exhaustion, then why couldn't a ...

Re: Dialects and terminology
0-level spells for clerics are called 'orisons,' which is similar in meaning to prayer, I think. All the D&D source material references clerical magic as 'spells.'
Re: Character feedback
I like the "sniffles" stuff. Gives your character something unique to sort of hang your hat on, a bit like Rhistel's "Exquisite!"

However, having journeyed and conversed with Viggo a few times, I'm not sure what his motivations are. (Bear in mind two things here: I'm no expert RPer myself ...

Re: Dialects and terminology
Interesting discussion. I think what a character "calls" certain classes is an outlet for characterization. For instance, a half-orc that I got killed called every elf he saw a "sorcerer," regardless of their class. He saw them as inherently magical dangerous and emphasized the negative connotations ...

Re: Skill Points and Roleplaying
Another thing to consider in this discussion: I think it makes sense to play those "social skills" like ability scores. You might want to put the points in if you're going to play a glib-tongued swashbuckler and RP it that way, the way you'd RP a low INT half orc or scarred, ugly low CHA guy. <br ...

Re: Magic's not a bullet, Its Magic (a Discussion)
I've never played a mage before--even soloing--so Rhistel is brand new for me, but I find the RP opportunities for magic users to be incredible. For one, there are the magic schools (for wizards, anyway) which can bring up rivalries and prejudices. Rhistel is also condescending toward divine ...

Rhistel Liadon, Conjurer
Rhistel Liadon was the son of a wood elf priest of Rillifane and a female Ranger of Silvanus (though Rhistel himself believed his father and mother both to wosrhip the same being, simply calling it a different name). His parents and the larger community placed an emphasis many forms of learning ...
