How are people playing thier return??

Post by AtraAngelis »

Hello folks,

I was just curious how people are playing thier return tothe server?...

As if nothing happned? no lapse in real time?
As if on an extended journey away form the dale and the vast?
As if staying in the vast but simply unavailable (hermiting)?

Just curious...

as for me...

Keldorn: Called back home to lend his axe as any good clan dwarf should do!
Lucias: Journeyed to ravens bluff to the temple of lathander there for some time, recently returned.
Shen: Remained at the school... as keeper until its master returned.

Lucias Cuthbert (HU Cleric)

I'd like to imagine that no time has lapsed between the server outages. Simply because during this time -nothing- happens. No patrols or RP can be done and no evil plots can be advanced during this time frame.

That being said... Vincent was mostly absent, even before the outage and I mostly considered him shut up in his library racking his brain (or bashing head on wall) on his latest research until very recently.

I think each player will have his or her preferences on this, Atra. Personally, I just don't like much the first one you mentioned, with "no lapse in time". I prefer the two others.

As for my characters, I'm doing it like this:

- Lyrian: Stayed around, working mostly inside the Crimson Company's Hall, but also doing regular patrols on the road to River Vesper Landing (not finding anything ususual during this period).

- Giulia: Also stayed around, dedicating most of her time to studying magic and languages.

- Ruban: Currently travelling, and hasn't returned yet.

I mostly considered him [Vincent] (...)bashing head on wall
Aaahhh... This explains the strange noises Lyrian was hearing coming from the library in the past few months. *nods in satisfaction with the revelation*

.

Ali Akabba plays:
  • Giulia Yusenov
  • Elranuir Drulomonen (Ranur)
  • Lyrian Katz

I've done a combination of no time elapsed or just that characters haven't seen each other in a while. After all, it's not uncommon for two characters to be very active in the area, but not cross paths - and as such doesn't necessarily need a specific explanation (though it's certainly fine if there is one!).

for my part with Isen as a druid and a wild elf, I expect she wouldn't be seen too often unless she had a reason to be, thus I'm just playing it as she was off doing her usual wanderings, though perhaps going a bit further out than usual. that way I can play it either way depending on how others do, it having been either a really long time or a really short one, so that i don't interfere with others ideas on it. I think its like time overall, its best to keep it somewhat vague so we don't hinder someone elses approach.

Perado has been such a recluse the last few years, I haven't really played her as returning, just locked up down in Vespers doing whatever it is she does.
