The Vast has a short list of sub-races available. Perhaps I missed the explanation, but I am slightly confused about them.

Do the races confer any bonuses, and penalties? Or, is it really just a name? If they do alter ability scores, could you list them for me perhaps?
Re: Sub-Races
Well, I think I have answered my own question.

I ran some test characters to see some of the sub-races and their modifiers for myself. Unfortunatley, It seems that the gnome and halfling sub-races are only a name.
Re: Sub-Races
I'm not sure about Gnome sub-races, but the Halfling ones, Ghostwise and Strongheart don't really have any ability modifiers that are different from the standard Lightfoot. Stronghearts are supposed to get 1 bonus feat at creation (like Humans do) but that would be impossible to implement as far as I understand it. Both are supposed to lose the "Lucky" feat that Lightfoots get, not sure if that comes into play or not. Also, Ghostwise are supposed to get some skill that doesn't exist in NWN but only in actual PnP. Something about Snares. I'm saying all this off the top of my head, so I may be wrong on some points.

The Elven Subraces all seem to work. But the Ability adjustments are made after your character logs into the game. So you have to anticipate them during creation, and probably rest each time you log in just to align everything properly. Moon Elves are the same as the standard Elf in terms of stats.

I made a thread about sub-races in this forum a month or more ago. Some of this is covered in it I believe.

Hope that helps.

Re: Sub-Races
Stronghearts lose the +1 to saving throws that lightfoots get. I believe Ghostwise do as well.

Re: Sub-Races
I will have to add one very important thing about the ghostwise. The ghostwise don't gain anything in stats, feats or saves. But they gain one power that can be a powerful tool in a roleplaying situation.

They have the power to use telepathy. In-game use tells for that.

Re: Sub-Races
That's actually a pretty cool interpretation of Ghostwise telepathy I must say.

But would that telepathy be only with other Ghostwise Halflings or with any race? Also, according to the actual DnD rules I believe it can only be used within reasonably short distances. But then again, these rules can always be bent.

Re: Sub-Races
I believe it is what any race, and also that it is within reasonable distance. I would say, no futher then you can see, or else I'm sure the advantage will be to much. But all of that needs confimation from Taraxa or Algernon
