Roleplaying Resources

Post by Amirsyl »

I believe this is in topic for general discussion, but feel free to move it to off topic if not.

Can any of you recommend helpful RP resources to use while RPing in the Vast?

I already have a Player's Handbook, and a Character Creation Guide. But, these are on my list...

Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting
A Players Guide to Faerun
Faiths and Pantheons
Ranger Guidebook (forget the proper name)

If anyone can recommend some other material that they found helpful, please feel free to reply.

just note something, if you are poor or cheap, or are just looking for a quick answer, not an in depth reading, you can search inside these books on amazon.com now. I think with each search you get like 8 pages from the book.

I should look for a book on concise comma usage...

Someday you'll die, and that is a shame
But somewhere in the between was a life of which we all dream
And nothing and no one will ever take that away"

'Races of Faerun' has the best coverage of the different races, including the specific human races. Very descriptive and thorough.
Indeed, Races of Faerun is on par with the FRCS in sheer roleplaying value.

However, after buying Masters of the Wild: A Guide to Barbarians, Druids, and Rangers I'd have to say it has very little value in terms of roleplaying. Better to save the money for something more useful.

the quintessential cleric is good as well as the book of the righteous (hardcover)...that particular book is great for making your own holy orders of clerics or paladins or holy warriors

oh and of course the FR sourcebook is absolute must have

Just got back from hunting some of these books down. Thanks for the replies. Managed to get...

FR Faiths and Panteons
FR Campaign Setting
FR Races of Faerun
Players Handbook 3.5 (I had 3.0)

Nearly pulled the trigger on the Quintessential Ranger Guide.

I think these will do for now.
