Re: hey! you expect me to read?
The way I usually do brawls, is this way:

Opposed DEX: to determine if you hit (of course, only if the opponent wants to try and dodge, though I usually expect that they will)

If you hit, then STR to determine the power of the hit (can be opposed with CON (for non-muscular characters) or STR (for muscular characters) to determine if the hitted person crumbles or stays on the field)

As an example:

Ananiki was trying to hit Lugdush in the chest. Lugdush determined that it wouldn't miss him (they stood very close, and he had just grabbed for her wrist to avoid her throwing an axe on Faye), so he just did a STR check to see if he would be able to stay on ground (opposed to my check of course).
He failed, but since Lugdush is not one to fall over, he was just pushed backwards.

Of course, as the example shows, there is also an important RP involvement. You need to take into account, how your character would act, first of all and then also the build of your character... there is almost no way you could bring characters like Lugdush or Ananiki down with a single blow (maybe except for Monks, who are specialised in brawls ), whereas at the other end, characters like elves, would be more likely to tilt when recieving a blow...
