The night was thick with misting rain in Dragon Dale. A few sat by the well in a heated discussion, heedless of the soft downpour. A lone figure strode slowly through the northern gates of the Dale, on to Ralbon's general store. He swept of his cloak to reveal a shoulder pad and body strap sewn into a suit of leather armor, the legs and sleeves of which had been removed. Vaar placed a heavy sack full of items he had looted from the fallen corpses of Orcs and Half-orcs from the north. The lean half-orc turned away as Ralbon counted out the gold he would pay for these items.
As he fingered the heads of the axes at his belt, Vaar made a mental count of his current funds and what he expected to earn from this excursion. After the shopkeeper placed the gold and silver pieces on the table for Vaar, the orc-kin turned and regarded the stack of money, nodding faintly to himself and sucking lightly on his teeth.

Somewhat suddenly, Vaar spoke. "I want enough rations to last me the trip across the Sea."

To which Ralbon replied: "Which sea?"

Vaar blinked several times, trying to determine whether this was a joke of some sort. Not able to detect any joke in the words, he answered by jerking his thumb southward.

After collecting his money and rations, Vaar left immediately, leaving a few coins for the barkeep of the Wayfarer. The coins accompanied a package and a hastily scribbled note asking that he give Innuvindyl and Jayde the contents of the package (which just happen to be dried, marinated venison).

As Vaar passed the well once more, he noticed that there was no longer anyone brooding there (or doing otherwise).

So it was that, without fanfare, Vaar left the Dale.
Vaar made good time and arrived at the dockmaster for River Vesper's Landing. The man looked at Vaar with recognition. "Been here a while... you heading back?"

Vaar shook his head. "Heading on." Vaar bit his lip slightly and added "Southwest."

The dockmaster nodded and stated his price, to which Vaar responded with a bag of coins. He spent the next day writing in his journal, filling four pages easily before deciding to stop. The next morning, his ship set sail.
