Ron'Al

Post by Roncarion_Stormcrowe »

What has gone before:

Ron'al lived in the woods just to the west of Maskyr's Eye, with his human bride and 2 children.
Ron'al tended the wood about his home, often assisting the Druid Kalendor in his tasks, when he was not guiding travelers through the mountains to Kurth and Kings Reach.

Ron'Al, while deep in the woods aiding Kalendor in the cleaning of a sacred pool desecrated by a band of raiding Orcs found their trail headed back toward his home.
Without waiting for aid, Ron'Al struck out on their trail arriving home to find the smoking ruin of his home. His wife obviously repeatedly raped and murdered, his baby daughter's head bashed in and his 6 year old son missing.
Screaming his throat raw in his pain, cursing the Gods and the ill fortune that sent him from his home this day Ron'Al set about burying his wife and daughter.
Kalendor arrived as Ron'Al began digging the graves. Ron'Al quickly exchanged his shovel for his sword cursing the Druid and his Goddess for keeping him from his home this day.

Ron'Al attempted to drive the Druid off, but Kalendor, understanding his pain and loss only retrieved the discarded shovel and began to dig, giving voice to the prayers for the dead as he did.

After cursing him a final time, Ron'al cast about for the trail of the departing Orcs. Finding the trail, he noticed for the first time not only Orc tracks but those of a large Half-Orc and a small boy as well, all headed south towards the mountains.
Quickly gathering his bow and a few first aid supplies Ron'Al set off to avenge his wife and daughter and to recover his son.

Out of his mind with grief, not as vigilant as he normally would be Ron'Al ran straight into an ambush, taking a spear to the thigh and a cross bow bolt through the side, he fell to the ground, his heartsblood draining from him. The last thing he saw before unconsciousness gripped him was the huge half-orc standing over him holding his son Ellesenor by the scruff of the neck and laughing.

Ron'al came to his senses in a cave, stiff and bandaged, barely able to move without passing out again.
Kalendor quietly approaches, and softly tells him he has been unconcious for close to a month, and that his Goddess would not allow him to heal Ron'Al as he had cursed and foresaken her.
ROn'al, slowly and haltingly began to tell th Druid that his son still lived and that he must follow and save him. The druid could only shake his head sadly, unable to speed the healing process.

Another month passed before Ron'al was fit to travel, and while he hadn't completely forgiven the Druid for what he percieved as his part in things, an uneasy bond was again formed.

Ron'Al set out on the cold trail, slowly covering ground, searching for any clue. The trail finally ended at the site of a battle in the Three Trees Pass south of Kurth. Orc bones scattered everywhere and a Cairn of a Dwarven warrior told the tale.
A dwarf, paying respects at the cairn explained to Ron'Al, that a band of Dwarven warriors headed North ran into the orcs and battle ensued. As the dwarves began to prevail, a huge Half-Orc, the obvious leader of the Orcs broke free and headed south, the dwarf added that he had a squirming sack slung over his back but the dwarves, engaged as they were could not pursue.

The trail, although cold and in many cases only a rumour to lead him on led through King's Reach to Dragon Falls and from there to Tantras and Calaunt. The last rumour led him to believe his enemy might be taking refuge in the mountains west of Dragon Dale.

The rumours are unclear however as to whether or not his son is with his enemy, and the sight of any half orc can drive Ron'Al into an almost berserker like rage, unless restrained by companions.[/b]
