The Mage Fair

Post by TheRingBearer »

Warning... The following is merely just a discussion concerning this. There is not set time or date... I am not even certain IF it will EVEN HAPPEN! But I want to give it the chance it deserves. I also post this on the heels of my mini-rant in the general discussion... so forgive me of any crazyness :)

Ever since the last Fair with that Str/Dex/Wis contest, I felt a overwhelming desire to host the very first Mage Fair of the Vast. I will not bore you with the details of my evil plan now. Yet to at least give you an idea of the events, it would have two different contests. A Lore Contest in which anyone with a lore modifer of 5 or greater can join. And a Mage contest for Wizards and Sorcs only that consists of 3 rounds that each test a different aspect of wizardry. (Identifing the Weave, Unweaving the Weave, and Utilizing the Weave)

There is only one hitch to this... I wanted four wizards of similar level. (I placed no level requirement on the Mage Contest, but seriously recommended lvl 3) And Henric and Perado are both too high... So I aim to have it focused on the lvl 3-4 range. But I don't have 4 wizards!

So I light this Bat signal as a cry for help. I can not do this alone... Everyone who has a wizard... Let me know along with their level. If you need just a little more xp... I'll personally level up with you. (Thats how badly I want this to happen)

I know of the following PCs who have level 3-ish Wizards.
Percivilius --- Boppin
Timgood1 --- Garland
(One of the Carrier folks) --- Javis (Is he lvl 3?)
Goatte --- Jearhl(sp?) (Yes I know goatte will almost certainly not make it, but this IS a list)

I know there must be more... but for the life of me I can not think of any others.

I think I'm going to reduce this to three wizards now... *sigh*

Nevertheless it seems I can add PW's Millia to the list as well, although I'll be at the mercy of the Archive Monster. (We should seriously battle this evil archive monster and free all the trapped PCs!)

I saw Percivilius once IG but he left before I was able to tell him. If anyone sees him, let him know that I have a PM for him in the forum so he can log in for once.

Ditto with Dabaro Viloufin.
Thanks.

If you want, I can throw in (well, not literally, since she CAN walk) Pita Stranger, a lvl3 sorc.

Plan on , at least, keepng updated on the forums a bit more.

Good luck, and keep us posted, okay?

Giulia is still a 2nd level wizard, perhaps she'll be 3rd by the time of the fair. I would surly love to participate.

An update of sorts...

sarah, the lvl 3 was more about the ability to cast lvl 2 spells more than anything else... But I'll send you a PM of the full gorey details. Although I will admit that in my "test run", the average Sorc would fair both well and poor depending on spell selection. But what you have told me is very good to hear.

Now for the timing...
As of right now, the only thing that stands between me and begining to throw out actual dates is the fact I lack enough wizards. However thanks to onomat's return, we may have a way to get around this a bit. However it still takes some coordination with him. Once I get word that this coordination is complete, I will begin to toss out dates. However last I heard it may take a few weeks at least before this coordination happens.

Regardless, the only date/time that is set for this fair is that it will occur either on a saturday or a sunday. Also there will (hopefully) be at least one full week advance warning once the date is set so to give everyone enough time to make prepairations.
