Mage Guild Meeting

Post by Cafall »

Faelar, Fe'anereth, and Khiasa (and their respective players, goatte, Ecclessia, and myself) are working to start a guild for those practicing 'the Art', or arcane magic. Yes, that includes wizards, sorcerors and bards, and no, clerics with 'arcane' counterfeit spells aren't allowed. I'm writing this because I believe, and Ecclessia and Goatte agree, that we need more of the potential membership involved in getting this organization going. Unfortunately, most of the interest in this guild seems to have died—I've noticed most of the mage characters are gone, their players either having quit the server (as many newcomers do) or moved on to other characters. So I'm putting the call out now, for those who may not have been here or perhaps decided to watch our efforts before contributing their help, that the guild needs more than three people to be a guild, and we're looking for those people. An IC meeting will be held to get more members involved in the setting-up of the guild; this thread is to get an idea of the interest on the OOC side of things, and to set up a date and time for the meeting, for those who are interested.

Requirements for members are rather basic, as they all revolve around roleplaying. The potential needs to have some proficiency in arcane magic and dedication to the Weave. Good roleplaying is definitely something we want to emphasize, and we will probably try to keep the powergamers out of the organization. Those who "abuse" the Art won't be allowed in (basically, evil mages). We're looking for involved people here, players who are willing to stick with their mage character and play them on a more or less regular basis, and players/characters who are willing to support the guild.

If a character might be interested, we can work it out IC once we find a time that fits everybody.

Arrogant pricks are welcome.
I think a weekend might be best for us; this coming is likely too soon, and next is Easter weekend, so it may need to wait until after that.

Cafall, what about the vertically challenged?

I'd be interested in joining. I was approached, and Sena said she'd think it over. [smiles] I'm able to be on Thursday-Saturday from 9:30am-5:00pm CST (saturdays only until 4:30PMCST).

Currently the time I've been on, I've seen few folks about, but I guess I'm not on during peak hours sadly.

Combined with my current DSL troubles (my ISP has been having network difficulties for the past week, and I 'frequently' lose service with no warning...not a 'great' prospect on a permadeath server), and since I'm playing around the time when things are sparse, well, I'd rather not take the chance of having an outage while I'm wandering about outside town.

In any event, I'll endeavor to make Sena reachable on this issue. I'll take her out, and have her wander about town or something.

Thanks for your time! [smiles, waves]
Oh, well... decide a date, and I'll try to dust off old Magnus for the day. Though he doesn't see much playtime, I don't want to abandon him completely and he wants to be in the guild - though not actively if you can say so... he'll not be a leading figure or anything, I believe he has too little screentime to that - but a supporter

Juli will be a supporter to the Mage guild. But I don´t think that she will ever play a big part in it. But I will back you up
OK, let's set a date and time for the meeting.

I suggest 2 pm CST on Saturday, the 17th of April. Which means 3 pm EST, 1 pm MST and Noon PST. This should be about 9 or 10 PM for Western Europe (Britain, France, Denmark, Germany, etc.).

Any problems with the time, post it here so we can discuss it.
Hehe, I can't... so it's kind of luck in unluck that Magnus has ceased to breath.

Though I wish you the best and good luck, wind and weave in the meeting.

Remember, guys, the date/time isn't set in stone, and the idea is to make sure everyone can come.

I can't look at my calendar to see if I'll be available at the moment—I'm at the relatives' house for Easter. *glances warily over shoulder* I'll post back when I can find out.

What happens if and went i can impliment Plan-X?

"What is Plan-X?" you say?

Well, when "She" finally gets her level back, she's going to hounding practitioners of the art for lessons, scrolls and mentorship (I've always, in the back of mind, wanted to do this for her. with a INT and DEX of 16 and a RPing lean to mage craft, tempered from watching her younger sister grow up and learn her powers, it's a viable option now that she has some establiment and vitality)

Another "why"? well, at the time of her shift away fulling from Torm's worship she was alone...Perhaps Magnu's passing will teach her who she want to worship (though she likes Chauntea, thanks to her often interactions with Julisette. hmm, i guess the same could be said of Ginnia too, but ive never played her *AS* a tree hugger. joke making joking *ABOUT* tree huggers

Like Cafall said, the time and date aren't set in stone. I'd like it if you all would tell me what dates and times you can make it. I put up all the other time zone info, since last time I get a couple request to know what time is it in 'my time zone.' And 'Pensive's,' could you not post stuff like that 'Plan X' thing. We've been trying for quite some time to get together a meeting day and time, and it doesn't help to have peripheral posts like that in the thread. Once we have the guild in place, you can approach a member to ask about joining and you'll go through the process, once it's been set up. Let's just discuss the time and date here. Thanks.
Just giving the courtesy of WARNING YOU of her plans (and the fun in RP. in actuality she most like won't join, simply being too much a neophyte at that time. But she will partake in your SERVICES your guild should provide (think about that yet? )
