Velton Fraxinus

Velton is a young moon elf of average build standing 5'9". He has pale white skin, almost blue and his hair is grey with a blue overtone as well.

Early Childhood
Velton lives in the shadow of his father, Elion Fraxinus, who was a great warrior. Elion came to Cormanthor from Evereska to help reclaim lands lost to the Drow. (Elion's ancestry is that from elves fleeing Cormanthor after the fall of Myth Drannor). There he met Velton's mother, Viana, an elven ranger who lived in a small community of elves having stayed in Cormanthor. Elion settled into the role of a local hero and charismatically lead several raids into Drow territory killing many of dark elves, driders, and spiders.

Calling in life:
Velton's first experiences in life were that of martial training. As a devout follower of Solonor Thelandira, Elion instilled a great sense of respect for the deity in the young Velton's mind. As Velton grew to adolescence it was obvious his religious devotion became more and more a prominent facet in his life. He spoke with power and soon began performing small miracles making it obvious he had been chosen as a spokesman from by the elven god. During this time, his display of faith converted his mother as a devotee of Solonor. (She had previously worshipped Rillifane Rallathil as most did in their village). He returned to his father's homeland with his parents and studied religion with some of the great priests of his faith. Here he spent a few years living an ascetic lifestyle.

Personal Tragedy
However, Elion, consumed by a sense of duty against the drow, soon returned to Cormanthor. Velton and his mother, after having heard no word for some time returned to Cormanthor seeking the elf discovering evil hadseeped into Elion's soul. His hatred of the Drow had grown so deep that he had forsaken his faith in Solonor to follow Sheverash. He had also grown mean and cruel constantly chiding Velton for not being the warrior he could have been upon Velton's return. Velton urged his father to reconsider his betrayal of faith in vain. One fateful night Elion created a raiding party and went deep into Drow territory claiming "Vengeance will be satisfied". Velton urged his father to remain wisely pointing out the imprudence of his plan, but the old elf would not be convinced. Things went poorly for the raiding party, they were cut off from retreat and eventually found their way into the underdark. Trapped in a small cave for weeks until, finally discovered, they were besieged by Drow. Three in the party then made a deal with the Drow in exchange for their lives, they would offer the head of Elion. One of these three stabbed him in the back with a Dagger. However, the Drow renagated on their promise killing the party. They did did release one surviver, not one of the three traitors, to return and tell the of Elion's demise. Elion's corpse was then taken to Drow necromancers who prepared Elion to be their servant as an undead warrior.

Redemption
Velton took his father's fate very poorly. At first he vowed vengeance, but, finding reassurance in his faith, he decided to leave so as not to be consumed by revenge. He spent much time in prayer and came to a decision. Having recently reached the elven age of adulthood, he set out into non-elven lands vowing to spread faith in Solonor and redeem his father's rashness by becoming a greater man than Elion himself. Perhaps, in wisdom, revenge will be had in a far off time when the elven youth has the power of experience behind him.
